The Accounting Club was set-up in June 2001. The advisors of the Accounting Club are Ms Lim Wei Yin, Ms Rahja Raajeswary, Ms Nirmala Devi A/P Mohanadas, Ms Noraidah Binti Abdul Latiff, Ms Lim Sue Ern and Mr S.Varatharajah Sinnathamby.
 
     Our past president, Mr Ng Eng Kiat, mooted the idea of Inter-Varsity Accounting Club in an effort to create a buzz about the Club as well as to serve as a platform to upgrade members’ skills and knowledge. This is the 14th consecutive year the club has been involved in organizing this event. It is truly remarkable to organize such an event at a national level with the title National Inter-Varsity Accounting Quiz (National IVAQ).
 
     The Accounting Club is open to the entire Alpha management(Pre-University Management) students and Accounting Students at MMU with the objective of providing guidance to members and exposing them to the rigors of the accounting profession. Among its other objectives are:
 

• To promote closer unity, friendship, intellectual and social advancement among members.

 

• To uphold high moral, ethical and professional standing among members.

 

• To provide forums for students to discuss career opportunities within the Accounting Fraternity, especially with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

 

• To inform students about upcoming accounting-related activities organised by various professional bodies, such as easy writing competition, seminars, sports events, etc.

 

• To organise career talks given by the Big 4 Accounting Firms.

 

• To collaborate with Accounting Clubs from other local universities and institution of higher education.
